This list is a work in progress. As a general rule of thumb, decide to upgrade gear based on 1) hit, 2) strength, 3) attack power, 4) crit, in that order until you are hit capped. Haste is useless for a Death Knight, and armor penetration isn't worth gearing for. This doesn't mean that items that have those are worthless, but you don't want to look for gear specifically for that.

The hit cap varies depending on your talents, but if you have 3/3 Virulence from the Unholy tree, it should be around 295. I can't stress enough how important it is to be at or at least near the hit cap.

Also, try out Rating Buster. This add-on makes it dead simple to figure out if a piece of gear is worth upgrading to or not. http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info5819-RatingBuster.html

Look guys, here's the deal. When you do dps like Mr #4 here, you ruin it for all of us. He was wearing tank shoulders, belt, neck and chest with no gems in any sockets as well as dual wield with all talent points in frost. But other people don't understand that it's just a nub player, they just see Death Knight on his character screen and generalize.

Best part of it was the question towards the end: "what are Emblems of Heroism for?". How is babby formed indeed.

This game isn't really that hard folks. And for everyone who would condemn me for being an elitist jerk, I probably wouldn't have been bothered if we didn't wipe 7 times during a H Nexus run.
